Hey guys, Shion here!
So, this week, I was busy with the new quests I got from this special and mostly, the hated thing that Bungie did for the past few weeks. They revealed this refer-a-friend quest and system, where you, as a veteran, should recruit your personal friends, or online friends to buy destiny and play with them. They also revealed the Raid Challenge system, where you have these unique challenge from one of the major boss in the King’s Fall Raid. Also, there’s this Xur bug that happened during the 4th of December. Also, there’s this special event that Bungie announced hours ago…
First off, refer-a-friend insights. Giving them referral links and playing with them as you two link your accounts together. Everyone I knew was already playing Destiny, I was playing Destiny already ever since The Taken King released on September. Everyone I knew says that it’s inappropriate for Bungie to do such stuffs, but when I got someone to do it with, I was amazed with its effects. First, you get to train someone. For me, I really was looking to train this guy I linked with. I found him on the tower, and I was like, “What the hell, I’ll just try some random newbie and see if they would bite my offer.” And he did. It’s not that easy to find one, I was doing it for several days. Second, your hard work with your linked friend pays off with new emotes and legendary gear. You also get someone new in your fireteam, especially now, I need more people to make my own raids. I haven’t finished it yet, so I’ll be sure to post more about this quest line when I do.
Second, the King’s Fall Raid Challenge Mode. Adding new challenge to the raid is quite weird for some, it’s like Bungie copied it off from Datto or from other pro players on youtube, but the thing is, we have rewarding loots for doing the challenge. It’s really a job well done by Bungie for implementing the challenge mode, and I’m hoping to see more of this in the future and in the weeks to come. The first challenge that they released is about the Warpriest. Everyone should know what to do, and everyone should know how to handle the brand. It’s also a recommendation for everyone to have a black spindle, but hey, we did it with touch of malice too. So yeah, with that said, you should have a high DPS fireteam. The main challenge is, defeat the Warpriest in two rounds, and having different brand holders. It’s that simple. But doing that, means you have a very versatile fireteam. Two rounds also mean, that you should kill the Warpriest before he destroys the second glyph. If he destroys the second glyph, that means you failed the challenge, and you should wipe your fireteam if you want the rewards.
The rewards are mainly random, but I got a 310, 315 and a 320 heavy machine gun, and a 310 and a 320 artifact for my hunter. Here’s the end video of my challenge, it took more than an hour for us to get used to hitting him in the head while staying alive since it’s on hard heroic mode.
I know almost everyone was pissed off with this bug, the Vestian outpost bug. We all wanted to get something from Xur, as he’s our go-to guy if we want to get to 310 without the raids, especially if you’re 300+. Farming exotic engrams, collecting the armors, or buying exotic armors so you can get exotic shards to upgrade or change your perks. But this 4th of December, Bungie decided to put Xur on the Vestian outpost by the reef. Everyone searched high and low for him on that base, until we saw this blue spot on our trackers and a vendor box in our screens. Oh, it’s Xur. But hey, the door’s closed. Me and my partner(linked friend), went back to the orbit several times just to get inside. I wanted to show Xur to him, but we couldn’t get to him at the same time. Check out my video below. Oh, and one more thing, I think Bungie quickly scrapped that bug by relocating Xur on the Tower, by the Hangar entrance.
If you also noticed, that’s the new emblem for refer-a-friend, as well as the new shader. I’ll post more about it when I finish the whole quest line.
Now, I’m pretty sure everyone is quite excited about this one. The all-new sparrow racing league! As seen on the trailer or video below, there are new emotes on the sparrow, new shaders, new equipment, and most certainly, new sparrows! Check out Bungie’s post about it, https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14086, or just check out the video below. I’ll post more about this when it’s live on December 8.
